Ermine has had a rough young life.  She was brought to the shelter with a litter of 8 week old kittens, who were adopted out quickly thereafter.  While in quarantine, she had her second litter, all before she herself is 2 years of age.  I have been fostering her and her kittens for the past 8 weeks.  She is a very good and attentive mother to her babies.  She is quite skittish and was in quarantine for biting someone before arriving at the shelter.  She hisses at you at first, but then immediately asks for loving and food.  I think once she is in a safe home and no longer has kitten responsibilities and is spayed that she will settle down and become an affectionate lap cat.  She will require someone willing to move slowly and have patience to let her come to you.  She is food motivated and she loves firm handed scratches and strokes.  She was calm in the presence of other adult kitties, and I think a calm, gentle dog would be OK too.  

FYI,  if you adopt Ermine and one of her kittens at the same time, it's only one fee $50. That includes the spay(neuter) surgery, initial vaccinations, rabies, microchip and Feline Leuk/FIV testing X2!
